Struggling from a learning difference myself, I remember the feelings of frustration, self doubt, and low self-esteem. I withdrew and hid my confusion.
Teens experience changes throughout their body, mind, friendships, interests, and brain. It is common for these experiences to create anxiety, depression, isolation, irritability, and many other painful emotions.
If your child is struggling, let's work together to give them the confidence, courage, and strength for them to achieve in their daily lives. I gently work with teens to overcome their feelings of sadness and anxiety.
Coming from a strength based wholistic approach, I work with each teen on gaining the tools to cope and work through their current stressors. I also work closely with other professions in the community such as physicians, nutritionists, teachers, and other counselors to enhance your child’s treatment. It takes a village to raise a teen!
Some symptoms of teen anxiety and depression are:
Feeling restless, wound up, or on edge
Difficulty controlling and regulating emotions
Sleep problems such as falling asleep or staying asleep
Anxiety and depression can feel overwhelming to a teen and impede their healthy development.
